'Dreaming shortly' is a photo serie, taking inspiration from my life and childhood home.
These three images was created as a final project for my BA (Hons) Photography Degree, and tok part in the degree show Folka, part of the annual Free Range Exibition in Brick Lane, London (June 2013)
'This series has taken inspiration from various aspects of my life. From growing up and living in a big renovation project, to inspiring family members work within various creative professions.
I taught my self early to create and play with what I found, and had to my disposal. I founda way to make sense of the chaos and things that surrounded me. Everything from building materials to piles of old clothes got used, often to make some sort of theather sett or show.
Growing up this was how I played and developed my vision for seeing the potential in a space or in a peace of old clothing, put together in the right way.
To me these images mirror this by using that same creative possess and play, with the styling, clothes and decay that is shown in these photos.
Recycling and reusing old materials is a big part of my personal work. By doing this I want to criticise the way reusable materials, clothing and interior too often gets thrown away or is left unattended and cared for.
That is why it is important to me to point out that all clothes, materials, shoes, accessories, and styling used on the models in this series (and my other personal work) have been found around my family home, given to me, or bought at car boot sales. Everything else that is shown, comes with the location.
I want to give the clothing and materials a new meaning in the space I create.
